I loved Hoot it was such an interesting book and it had a lot of plot twist for sure. It all started with Roy, he is the main character in the story. Roy sees a running boy on the sidewalk while he was on the bus. He wants to investigate the boy because he looked odd. Once Roy finds out who the boy is, the story takes off. Roy and the boy want to help save the owls, from the Mother Paula Pancake house company. They are building on the owls land, which may result in something bad. Roy the boy and Beatrice start an investigation. Will Roy save the owls? This all takes place in Florida.

Hoot is a good book about Roy Eberhardt who is swept into an interesting mystery after he sees a boy running really fast on the sidewalk. Roy continues on with his life but tries to figure out about the running boy, meeting some interesting characters along the way. The primary characters include, Roy Eberhardt, the running boy, a soccer player, a policeman, and a construction worker. Roy has moved to many places throughout his life. While engaged in the mystery, Roy learns to stand up for what's right. The only bad thing about this book is that there is lots of cursing and lying.

Best book ever! It shows lots about how anyone can make a difference! No matter what the situation the characters in the novel found a way to pull through. Roy is the main character throughout the book is Roy, however there are multiple side characters. Within the book you see from a third person perspective. You are mostly following Roy's side of the story, but countless times throughout the book you also follow other side characters. The book has many ways to make you want to keep reading. The story is never bland, and always is fresh and suspenseful. There are lots of characters with unique personalities. Halfway through the book new characters are still being introduced, and already introduced characters are showing more of their personality. You mainly only see the main side characters, but there are some minor characters which don't show up much. The best thing is that even the very small side characters have unique personalities. Not one character in the novel is even close to being similar to another character. Sure some might have one or two similarities, but they are easily distinguishable to the other characters. I HAVE to recommend this book!

This book was great and I would definitely recommend it. This book is all about working hard, perseverance, and animal conservation. This book follows Roy (a middle schooler who just moved in to town), Beatrice (A popular soccer player at Trace Middle School) and a mysterious boy that Roy sees while on the bus. Each kid has their own struggles and trials, but they all have one thing in common; their desire to protect the owls. The three kids try their hardest to save the burrowing owls that live in a field where an upcoming pancake restaurant is to be built. Throughout the story, Roy and his friends try their hardest to save winged animals. This book teaches everyone to work hard to make a change and to stand up for what you believe in.

I gave this book a 3 because i just dont really like the book even if it is a good storyline. Even tough it might not help that im more into fantsy then realsitc ficton. Some of the things i do like about the book are how they made Mullet Fingers charcter fearless and brave and would do anything to save those owls.I also like the attion to detail. There are some things i dont like about the besides me not really liking it. Something i dont like is that there are some bad words they may be very spare but i still that that. ANother thing i dont like is the fact that Roy Mooned Dana Matherson. I JUst don't think something like that should be in a kids book even if it does not tell us the deniftion of the word.

This book is a wonderful adventure with twists and turns. The main protagonist is a shy boy who stands up for what is right. After getting bullied, he meets a weird boy that can catch mullet with his bare hands! This novel would be amazing to read in class or at home. There is some mild language so this novel would be best for grades 6 and up. Overall, this book is a definite five!
