SPOILER ALERTS!!! Read at your own risk! I feel that most of the book is slow and boring without Michael. At the end, when he makes his return, I feel he was just too powerful. It should have been harder for him to win. He just comes out of the sky and defeats all the bad guys in 10 minutes, I mean, it made me happy, but still, not a very good plot.

Excelllent series
I thought that the first 6 books of the Michael Vey series were at best awesome and at worst ok but the 7th book I thought was the worst book in the entire series. The first two thirds just felt like a big long catchup and random stuff just thrown together and then the last part felt like someone just pushed a magic button and suddenly everything is all fine and dandy. The writing itself didn't feel as descriptive or connecting as the other books, and I feel like it left a lot of loose ends! Out of five this book was a two, but the others were fours and fives.
-SPOILER ALERT- -sigh- I had waited so long to read the 7th book. I was so pumped to watch the book trailer and it was just a guy talking. I started the book, and felt confused, and bored. Without Michael, this really is bad. I had predicted that Michael might appear at the end, but the would be a horrible way for the book to end, or even be like. I am at the halfway mark, and have skipped many pages to find a sign of Michael. I’m really sorry Richard Paul Evans, but this may be the worst book in the whole Michael Vey series.
The Michael Vey series is at its best okay but at its worst horrid with unfulfilled potential. The 1st book and most of the 2nd was amazing. The suspense of the Elgen and the kidnapping, but after the 2nd the series fell into a trap it could never recover from: greed. The author so obviously did not care for these books and was simply cashing in on the "Teen Superpowers" genre like "Harry Potter," "Percy Jackson" and less to do with powers but similar, "Hunger Games". The 7th book was no different with forced plot and a cliche resolution.
I read this book the DAY IT CAME OUT!!!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! The last book was soooo good but the first half of this book went slow until the second half it was AMAZING!!!

Overall, I did not think very much of the book. I have been anticipating it for a whole year and was very excited to see it finally release. However, I walked away from it feeling very disappointed. I felt that a lot of the plot was very unnecessary for the end result, and a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions were left. This is very frustrating, especially when this is supposed to be the last installment of the series (Though there were hints of a possible future story-line of course). I feel like there should have been more emphasis on each individual character and where they ended up since this is supposed to be the last we'll see of them, however the epilogue chooses to focus on the main four members of the Electroclan (Michael, Taylor, Ostin, and Jack) and leaves the reader to speculate about what will happen to the rest of the cast. While in previous books of the series, each character and their unique gifts were focused on, only three members of the Electroclan actually do ANYTHING for the whole book. I realize that Richard Paul Evans was trying to bring the series to a close quickly, but in my opinion he did a poor job at it. Even the title of the book "The Final Spark" is just a pun that has no actual relevance to the plot.
