Tom was ecstatic for his first day of middle school, as a regular eleven-year-old boy. He had his whole middle school career planned out, with his grand "Invisible Tom Plan", until it all went downhill after Tom got bitten by a vampire, werewolf, and a zombie, all in the same day! Tom suddenly finds himself part vampire, part werewolf, and part zombie. As the first day gets closer and closer, Tom begins to accept his new life, but starts to worry about how the rest of Hamilton Middle School react to the new Tom. Will they accept his unique characteristics, or will they ignore him and exclude him from the student body? To find out, read Middle School Bites. I really enjoyed this book, and I really liked the humor in this book. I give this a 4 out 5 stars, and would recommend this to kids who enjoy a funny book.
Middle School Bites
By Steven Banks
Tom is desperate to fit in at school, but he's hungry and howling, not to mention half dead . Blame it on the vampire - and the werewolf - and the zombie - in this monstrously funny new series from SpongeBob SquarePants head writer Steven Banks.

Thanks to a series of unfortunate bites, eleven-year-old Tom is a triple threat: he's a Vam-Wolf-Zom. And just in time for the first day of middle school. So much for his Invisible Tom Plan. He never thought to make a What If I Turn Into A Vampire Werewolf Zombie Plan. Maybe it's time for a Run Away and Live Somewhere Else Plan?
With the help of his irrepressible best friend, Zeke, Tom tries to accept his future. Zeke thinks being a Vam-Wolf-Zom sounds EXCELLENT! (Zeke thinks everything sounds EXCELLENT!) At least he'll be able to stand up to the sixth-grade bully. The question is will the rest of Hamilton Middle School accept the Vam-Wolf-Zom, too?
Tom's toothsome saga is illustrated with clever, cartoon-style art on every spread. Created by an Emmy-nominated writer for SpongeBob, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, and CatDog, this new series is perfect for fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The Last Kids on Earth. EXCELLENT!

Middle School Bites is a pretty funny book to read. Tom had a series of unfortunate bites the day before the first day of middle school that turned him into a part vampire, part werewolf and part zombie. At first, he hated being what he is because his bully, Tanner Gantt, would have another reason to bully him. In the end, things turned out better than expected and everyone in school loved him.
The first day of Middle School is both scary and exciting. Tom has got everything planned out with two list. First list, 4 reasons to be excited for the first day -- The second list, 4 reasons he is NOT excited for the first day. But one thing he doesn't plan is getting bitten 3 times while staying at Gram's house...he gets bitten my a Bat, a Wolf, and a Zombie! Tom is now a Van-Wolf-Zom... That is not what was supposed to happen in Middle School, so much for trying to be invisible through the school year. His sister thinks he is a freak when she finds out and his parents and Gram are understanding. Even his best friend things it's Totally Excellent. But how will people he doesn't know, people that don't care about him... What will they do when they find out? You'll be as hungry for more as Tom is for meat when you read this! Thanks for reading, Ajg16s Reviews
There were four reasons Tom wanted to go to middle school, and four reasons he didn't. However that becomes five reasons he doesn’t want to go when he gets bitten by a vampire, a werewolf, AND a zombie. All that while staying at his grandma's house! So much for the invisible Tom plan he was working on. Now he has to figure out how to hide this stuff from the class and his family along with trying to avoid the school bully Tanner Grant. He also has to share a locker with Abel, the boy who is always dressing up in suits and talking fancy-like. And figure out how to get rid of this Vam-Wolf-Zom thing while his friend Zeke thinks being a Vam-Wolf-Zom sounds EXCELLENT! This book was very good and very funny. Looks like there might be a sequel so I'll try and find that when it comes out.

This is a book filled with humor that is sure to make anyone laugh. Middle School Bites is about a boy named Tom who is bit by a werewolf, zombie, and a vampire all in the same day. To make things worse it is right before his first day of Middle School. Being a zom-wer-wol has its perks for one he is super strong and can run really fast, but it also has its downsides of facing school bullies, craving blood, and looking tired and not to mention half-dead all the time. This is an amazing book about the journey of a boy going through middle school who faces many problems and ups and downs. But most of all he has amazing friends and family by his side who support him through thick and thin.
This novel is essential for monster lovers, because it has some facts about the awesome powers of vampires, werewolves, and zombies, as well as their unfortunate weaknesses. In the story, a boy named Tom is anything but an ordinary kid. He has a hard life because he is... A VAMPIRE, WEREWOLF, AND ZOMBIE... all at once! He faces bullies and embarrassment in his classes, but he has a friend and his family to help him deal with the stress of being part monster and learning how to use his powers. But will he be accepted by everyone else? I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. It is just a truly amazing novel.
