This book has a lot of information on cats, and you can learn fun facts about them and see very cute pictures and funny jokes and riddles, too. This National Geographic book is fit for any grade level, and can be enjoyed by any grade level. It very colorful as well! I rate this book 5/5.

Esperanza Rising “Did you know that when you lie down on the land, you can feel it breathe? That you can feel its heart beating?” Drawing on her own family history, Pam Munoz Ryan tells the story of a young Mexican girl, Esperanza, living during the time of the Great Depression in America. She is the spoiled daughter of a wealthy ranch owner, and lives a life of luxury and ease until political unrest and the greed of her own step-uncles rob Esperanza of both her father and her wealth, and send her fleeing to California with her mother for safety. Esperanza quickly learns that America is not the answer to all her problems. Nor does it provide the new life Miguel, her friend and former servant, hopes for. There is still the vast divide between rich and poor, only now those inequalities are coupled with differences in language and race. Ryan handles these issues well. They never become oppressive or political. She keeps everything true to what Esperanza sees and experiences. Esperanza is the perfect representative for the troubles of the poor laborer. She was incredibly wealthy before her troubles began, so she experiences what it means to be poor for the first time, and we see it through her eyes. It is a rag to riches story in reverse. And it does not end with an easy answer. Only the reassurance that life’s most important riches are family, friends, the fruit of the land, and the power of hope can help her through her struggles. Esperanza Rising is a beautiful book. The characters are vividly portrayed; their emotions full of meaning. I could relate to several of the characters in the book, in different ways. Mexican culture is an underlying theme throughout the novel. Esperanza's pain felt very near to my own heart, and her personal growth through it was refreshing.

Did you ever want read a book that is very suspenseful and you won't be able to put down. Well then Divided We Fall by Trent Reedy is definitely your next realistic fiction book. My rating of this book would be 4 stars out of five because I liked how's suspenseful, it was but it could be a little slow in some parts. Divided we fall is about a 17 year old kid named Danny who enlists in the Idaho national guard. He is deployed to stop rioting in the streets. During his mission a civilian throws a rock at him with causes him to jerk his gun. This causes a huge blood bath leaving Danny to blame. Danny then is on the run from the Feds throughout the book. For example it was really suspenseful when Danny was crossing the Idaho border, and hiding in his truck when they searched the car so they wouldn't find him. It was kind of boring in the story when Danny was at home just talking to his mom and trying to get her less stressed. In a way I would say this book is a little bit like divergent because the government does turn against the soldiers. Trent Reedy has also written a second book in the series called a fallen nation. Overall a reader who would enjoy this book is anyone who likes war books and dystopian mixed into one.

Personally, i think this book is pretty good. im in the 5th grade, and ive been reading since 2nd grade. (thanks to my older sister) alot of people dont like how the protagonist, Nicki talks alot about boys and crushes and romantic teenager problems. But personally i think its just sort of realistic, Nicki is not in the 4th grade, shes a teen. This book isnt technically about a fun adventure with no worrys or stress, its realistic "slice of life" book. it speaks about growing pains and i think its interesting since i like books with drama and realistic ideals, usually. even in manga i like it when for example, attack on titan isnt all just about the titans but also shows the characters personalities and personal goals and stuff like that, friendships being broken and stuff that hurts the reader because of how realistic it is, but also has fiction like titans. Back to dork diaries, this is one of the only non-manga books i like, i will say Nicki can get a bit whiny and makes it a bit less enjoyable but overall i really like the idea and plot of this book, no its not a Diary of the Wimpy Kid "rip-off", its different in its own way because its more grown-up and usually girls struggle alot more with growing up so its natural Dork Diaries feels grown. I love this book! It can be very stereotypical tho, just because Nicki is a new "nerdy girl" who gets picked on, and on top of that her enemy is Mackenzie Hollister, the most popular girl in school. I like how much the book has so many twist and turns.

Dog Man Unleashed is the second book in the Dog Man series. It is written by the same author as Captain Underpants so if you like those books, you will LOVE this book. It is about a police man with the head and brain of a dog. There is a short summary of how that happened in the beginning of the book. But if you want to follow the entire series you should also read the first Dog Man book. In the book there are mysterious things happening and it is up to Dog Man to figure it out and stop the crime. This book was fun to read because of the entertaining story and vivid pictures. It also has instructions of how to draw the characters in the back of the book and a bonus comic. I personally would recommend this book for kids in grades 2-5.

A boy who doesn't have any real name, just goes by his late mother's name, Asta as in just Asta's son. Until now. When Lord Furnival died, then Father Quinel died, too. Everything just falls in the secret which the poor boy feeling confused, scared, but also felt brave all at once. But when the young boy found out about the "wolf's head" meaning that he is/was considered as immortal which was common misconception back in the 1300s, the medieval era. The older man that the young boy has to run and hide from is John Aycliffe. Throughout Asta's son's long, scary journey and hiding from Aycliffe, he later met another man, Bear who later truly loved him as a son. Until it was revealed that Asta's son actually have the name, Crispin. It was emotional discovery but good one. Murders too were discovered/solved. This story is Christian with the young boy who he possesses; the cross and believed in God and his faith helped him throughout his journey. Bravery, faith, murders, and emotional discoveries are all in this book written by Avi. Great book! - Happy Reading!

The Wearle are a group of dragons coming from their home planet to investigate Erth. They want to find out what happened to the colony before them. The Wearle quickly establish their dominance with the men(a tribe called Kaal) and take over the mountain. They also create a scorch line as a border. Meanwhile the Kaal hate the dragons and the fear and boundaries. But Ren is different from his people. He is fascinated by the dragons, and wants to learn about them. One day Ren figures out a way to cross the scorch line safely. Gabriel is a blue dragon who lost his father from the first colony. One day he is fighting for the right to be the guardian of Grystina’s eggs when a rockslide starts and kills her inside. Gabriel is immediately blamed, and one of his punishments is the loss of honor of his name. Now he is Abrial and must work as a sweeper along the scorch line. One of Grystina’s dragonlets survived-the other is missing, taken for dead. Soon Garbriel and Ren will find themselves crossing paths in a way neither could have ever imagined. It might bring their family together. Or it might destroy them all. The book has different terms for many things, and the groups have different terms for each other. For example, Homs are humans(from the dragon's point of view), and skylar's are dragons(from the human’s point of view). At the beginning of this book I had a lot of trouble keeping up, and understanding what was going on because I didn’t understand certain terms, or exactly how the dragons ranked and that sort of stuff. However, now I know about two important resources that I wish I had known about before. At the beginning of the book there is a list of characters and a short description. Then at the back there is a glossary of many of the terms used. I would recommend that you reference both while you read. I also love that the point of view changes. That way we get the different points of the story, which is especially important in a story like this where there are multiple species. I am very excited to read the next book, and I can’t wait to see what happens with these characters! I recommend this book to dragon lovers, and fantasy lovers and fans of Chris D’Lacey. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

i love this book because it sad and happy and also like a games and when the boys name pony-boy and johnny saved the kids for the church fire it was amazing
