Lyrically told and gloriously illustrated, this story will inspire many as it shows how - even in the worst of times - a great idea and a lot of hard work can still rock the world.

This a positive story about William Kamkwamba. In Malawi, there was a hunger because the village didn't have electricity, villagers didn't have much water to water the maize field. But, a boy named William Kamkwamba have an idea. Read this book and find out what was the answer. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks. Sincerely, Vy
William got hurt while doing all this experimenting, but the amazing thing is that this is a true story!!!!
This book it really attractive when you read it. I really recommend reading it! :)
I really, really, enjoyed this book! This book was a true story about a boy named William Kamkwamba. The place where he lived had no electricity. So, William decided to make something that would help power his home by making something. He saw something, and do you know what it is? Yes, it's a windmill! He first made a mini windmill, because he wanted to test it out. He powered his dad's radio to see if it worked. It actually did! So, using old scraps of metal and other junk from the junkyard, he made a bigger, life size windmill. And it worked! He had to fix some things, here and there, and he successfully lit his home without using gas that was bad for them. It's such a great story to read.
The book is about a person who build a wind mill and brings it to school and everyone was proud of him and her sister gets married to a teacher and everyone in the famailey was thinking she was stupid.
This book was really good. The story is about when a terrible drought struck William Kamkwamba's tiny village in Malawi, his family lost all of the season's crops, leaving them with nothing to eat and nothing to sell. William began to explore science books in his village library, looking for a solution. There, he came up with the idea that would change his family's life forever: he could build a windmill. Made out of scrap metal and old bicycle parts, William's windmill brought electricity to his home and helped his family pump the water they needed to farm the land. After you saw this comment I encourage you to read The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Young Readers Edition. Really Good Book!!! :)
Loved the book!
Really Awesome Book (RAB).
In this book William was able to build a windmill to help his people have both water and electricity. The people of his village had no money for lights so when night came they could not work because it was too dark.William built the windmill with the help of two boys and he only used trash and trees the people taught he was crazy but when he was finished they all cheered for him.
